Springfield can look back on many years of care. Here are the key developments over the past years.
The Home is large Victorian detached house set in it’s own grounds and located in a delightful woodland location within easy reach of both Pengam and Gilfach Villages in the Rhymney Valley. The driveway entrance is at the south end of Gwerthonor Road, Gilfach, and the house lies immediately west of Lewis School, Pengam.
The house dates back to 1907, The building then became a Home for the Elderly, which opened in February 1990 and subsequently closed in 2005.
The building was then refurbished to enable it to offer a new privately run specialist care service for younger adults with learning disabilities registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
